Today I’m going to talk about jojoba face and body oil by Flora, which I had the opportunity to try thanks to a collaboration with the company. I’ve been very satisfied with this vegetable oil, and indeed I soon finished it all. So, let’s see all the features of the product!
Jojoba oil and its properties
Jojoba oil is a vegetable oil, although it is more properly defined as a liquid wax. It is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant, a shrub that grows in very warm climates . It is one of the few oils suitable for oily skin, as it has a composition similar to that of the sebum of our glands, hence it helps to regularize sebaceous secretion. Useful for dry and sensitive skin, it is also excellent as anti-wrinkle, emollient, anti-age, anti-dandruff, protective and anti-stretch-mark. It can be used in case of oily or dry scalp, against itching and even for problems such as psoriasis. It helps to nourish dry lips and it is very good not just on face and body, but on hair too. By adding specific essential oils you can use it for a nice aromatherapy massage.
Features of jojoba Flora oil
Flora jojoba oil helps the brightness and the elasticity of the skin. As a cold pressed oil, all its beneficial properties are kept intact. It is a 100% pure oil, so it does not contain any preservatives, allergens, PEG or PPG, parabens, synthetic substances, petroleum derivatives, colourings, etc… and it is provided with Cosmos Organic, Vegan OK, Cruelty Free and GMO free certificates.
The product I received is a 50 ml bottle with dark glass to protect it from light. The product comes out of the bottle easily because it does not have the typical dropper of essential oils, so be careful to spill the right amount. It has a shelf life of more than 30 months, but once opened the product must be consumed within 9 months.
How to use it?
Apply a small amount of product on the hands and massage gently on the face and body, both in the morning and in the evening.
In fact, as I explained at the beginning of the post, there are many different uses.
How does it look like?
The oil has a beautiful yellow color and the typical smell of jojoba oil that I find very good, even without adding anything else.
What does it contain?
100% pure jojoba oil without the addition of other ingredients.
Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil.
How did I use it?
I only used it on the body after shower, on wet skin. I added four drops of essential lavender oil to perfume it and to turn it into a relaxing and emollient oil. This is because lavender has very good relaxing properties. It can also be used to massage the scalp before shampoo (excellent for oily skin) since lavender essential oil has a purifying action, while jojoba oil has a balancing one.
What do I think?
Generally, I love oils. I like to use them especially after shower because they help me to avoid the unpleasant sensation of tight skin. I have to say I really liked this one. With the addition of the essential oil I created a real cuddling after bath. For cleansing I used a rose shower gel (the rose-lavender mix was a really good one!). I also had some scalp massage (I have dry hair), you can guess the relax I had. Try it yourself too!
Do I recommend it?
Yes, definitely. For all types of skin and scalp. It has a good emollient and nutritional power, which is great if we want to keep the skin soft and elastic.
